Sometimes…. you need not have an unpopular opinon to offend.

Some folks are so sensitive, so close-minded, they cannot hear the rest of the nation screaming at them to change the way they think.

Some people are so afraid to admit they are wrong that they will refuse to broach a subject.

Many times in my life I have heard various people say, “I will not discuss religon” or, “I don’t like to talk about politics” or any of a number of other subjects that are supposed to be “taboo” to talk about.

Well…. if we refuse to discuss these things, how then are we supposed to find solutions to these things (problems)?

When people refuse to discuss certain subjects…. when people refuse to listen to another person’s thoughts on a subject…. when someone decides that a matter is closed and they adopt an attitude of:

“I am right and you are wrong and that is all there is to it”

…. all you have accomplished at this point is to show a closed, un-educated mind.

There always exists the possibility that we are wrong.

About everything.

The wise course is to keep an open mind and be willing to hear the “other side of the story” because, if we give validation to one another’s opinons, we sometimes will “see the light” and end up changing the way we feel and think.

I have changed religons, several times…. and I am CERTAIN that I still don’t have it “right” …. but i am getting closer to the truth.

I have changed political parties, many times…. and I KNOW that I still haven’t found the quite-right-way-of-thinking-political-system that would work for me….. but along the way I have heard many different opions that have shaped and changed the way I percieve my world…. I have met many like-minded individuals and I have met many who disagree with me (us)….

and all the while getting closer to the truth because I try to keep an open mind…. and admit that there is the distinct possibility that I may be wrong….

and never basing friendships on things that don’t really matter like politics or religon but, rather important qualities like honesty, and decency and a good sence of humor.

Just had to point that out.

Today I saw, by perusing the internet, one of our artists has decided to load their work onto one of those giant, impersonal art sites where one could dream and hope of selling their originals while competeing against about a hundred thousand other artists. Worse yet, these big, un-caring web sites would have their artists believing they can create reproductions of art even though the artist will be dealing with a stranger, from far away, and their will not be a proofing and color-correcting session directed by an artist who knows the nuances and fine details of art reproduction. Even worse yet, These mammoth, emotionless “art” factories will, in the end, charge you more money for a lower-quality print.

The simple truth is that you can get the highest quality reproductions right here in Waukesha.

Who want’s to cut their hair? In September, 2010; we will be hosting an event to benifit Locks of Love, an organization that provides hair for fiancially disadvantaged children who have lost their hair due to illness or injury. We are looking for volunteers to come and have their hair cut for this very worthy cause. I have been growing my hair for several years now and I hope to have a nice long braid to donate. The minimum length for donation is ten inches
